You may not have realized, but in the past few months we have been working hard to ensure that our network is up 100% of the time.  As with all providers, you start out utilizing your upstream provider’s IP addresses.  While this approach is simple, it does not give you complete flexibility and can become costly.  We took this approach until we were able to obtain a direct IP allocation from ARIN (American Registry for Internet Numbers).

Redundancy

We now run our own BGP based network and have multiple uplinks to avoid outages.  Our network consists of two upstream connections that provide us a diverse blend of Level 3, Internap and Cogent.  Level 3 and Internap are routed via Chicago and Cogent is connected directly in South Bend, where our data center is located.

If you have any questions regarding the network at Unlimited Net, please do not hesitate to contact us!
